Where I feel at home

Gould Academy, Bethel, ME

Mountain Day

Maine to me is breathing clean air and drinking spring water straight from the stream. No asthma for me in the White Mountains! Favorite activities include hiking, winter camping, biking miles to a lake and jumping in, nordic skiing, and cloud watching from my hammock.

Visit Gould Academy in Bethel, ME! The view is spectacular. The trees are healthy, people are friendly, and there is lots of open and fresh air. Mountain Day is my favorite school day of the year!

Maine Immigrant & Refugee Services (MEIRS), Lewiston, ME

Student Volunteer

I am proud to be a student volunteer at the Maine Immigrant and Refugee Services (MEIRS) Center where the mission is to educate, assist, and empower immigrant and refugee youth and their families toward a goal of social and economic self-sufficiency and mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. MEIRS promotes a pathway toward citizenship and community engagement, creating opportunities for inclusion and meaningful participation for immigrants and refugees. To be a part of this community and contribute to this incredibly valuable and meaningful mission is a privilege and blessing. Gould Academy students have this opportunity because of our amazing French teacher, Mr. Adam Leff, who drives us for over an hour to MEIRS and whose unflagging enthusiasm and positive energy gets even me out of bed on Sunday mornings!

France

Vernon (Eure, Normandy)

Bonjour! North of Paris near Giverny, Vernon is on the banks of the river Seine and lives and breathes history with its Gothic church, 12th century castles, distinctive architecture, lush farmland and immortal spirit. I came here in 2018 to conduct interviews and visit landmarks of relevant and important people and places for my Tribune Féminine project. Read more about Vernon during World War II as relates to my Tribune Féminine project at the link below.

Cambridge, MA

Not just across the river from Boston

Harvard, MIT, Lesley, Hult. Come to Cambridge to mingle with interesting and smart people from around the world. My favorite places, the Cambridge Public Library and pedestrian walkways along the Charles River, are free and welcoming for all! Cambridge is a city where you can spend time outdoors, so grab a book and read while sitting on a riverside bench, or walk/jog/bike along Memorial Drive!
